Jackson joined us on 9th November 2014.
From where Jackson started his life...........
Jackson was 7 years old when he joined us here at footprints. His siblings are Ayrub & David who all lost their mother through the HIV infection.
On the 21st November 2014 Kerry and Footprints orphanage helped the children bury their mother. With no family to help, Footprints stepped in to help make the arrangments. It was a very emotional time for the boys but they were supported to say their farewells.
Their mother knew, before she died, that the boys were in a caring and loving place for their future.
Jackson had the burden of caring for his siblings at the young age of 7, he did an amazing job and all three boys settled in to the loving family at Footprints.
This is what living at Footprints Achieves!
Jackson has settled in to Footprints fantastically. He is inquisitive and always has his hand up at school, where he is doing very well.
On Sunday10th October 2016 he celebrated his 9th birthday. Uncle Rogers baked him a cake and everyone sang to him. In Kenya there is a delighful tradition. The cake is cut and the person with the birthday feeds the most important people to them with the first pieces from a folk. Jackson, of course fed Ayub and David, his siblings first, then Mama Kerry and Uncle Patrick. It was a joy to see such a touching event taking place. The rest of the family and friends were then offered a piece of cake too.
On my next birthday I think this is a tradition I will adopt in my family!
Jackson has a bright future ahead of him.
